We don't run or monitor Character.AI, and this page doesn't check whether it is up. For its current status, check Character.AI's own site and announcements. If you want a copy of a character somewhere else, you can bring it to Veltale, an adults-only (18+) AI chat site. Everything a character says is made up by an AI.

While you can open a character's edit screen, copy its name, description and greeting into a note on your device. That copy is yours whatever happens to any site.

On Veltale, Bring your character lets you paste that name, description and greeting. It starts as a new chat here. Nothing is fetched from Character.AI, and there is no automatic link between the two sites.
